The Intention Experiment by Lynne McTaggart

A Review by Colin Whitby

Having read The Field a number of years ago I was very interested to see how Lynne had developed her ideas and what further evidence she had gathered to support the idea of a universal consciousness that influences our reality in a measurable way.

In The Intention Experiment Lynne has gathered more scientific evidence and brought together a body of work that has been meticulously researched. Her attention to detail and her balanced view provides the backdrop to some really mind stretching ideas. For those of us who have been working in energy and in some of the more esoteric healing modes, this book provides evidence that what we have been experiencing is now measurable scientifically.

If nothing else it is reassuring to know that there are people out there that have taken the subject seriously enough to devise experiments that would persuade even the most hardened ‘show me and I’ll believe it’ types that the phenomenon of creating through thought it real and actually works.

One idea that was fascinating was an intention experiment that was carried out after the results of an event were completed. An experiment was carried out where the results were stored and kept secret, even from the scientists, in order that a group of people could influence the results through thought, even though the experiment had already taken place.

In other words their thoughts were sent back in time to before the experiment was carried out. The results were just as effective as when the experiments were carried out after the intention was sent, proving that time and space are not what they seem: we can remotely influence our environment, even by sending thoughts back through time.

Some of you may already carry out ‘clearings’ of energy by travelling back in time and helping release or rewrite the old energy patterns of the past, replacing them with new outcomes. Now this kind of influence has been measured and recorded scientifically.

‘So what?’, you may ask, ‘I’ve been doing this for years’. For me it is important that this kind of ‘proof’ is finding its way into mainstream thinking, and that the methods of the scientific community are being used as the bridge to prove what may seem too incredible to believe for some.

In order to take the idea of intention influencing our reality further, Lynne has devised a series of experiments that we can take part in, and her web site describes how this works. However she does have one proviso, that we read her book first before signing up to the experiment ourselves. This is so that we can be in the right frame of mind and have the appropriate level of commitment to help make the experiment a success.

In order that she knows we are committed and have read the book Lynne has devised a security check based on the book, so that you will have to at least have a copy with you when you register.

I love this idea and have registered today, and am now waiting for the next experiment to come through. I would certainly recommend reading the book, even if you ultimately decide not to join with the ongoing experiment, it will certainly challenge some of your ‘concrete’ ideas of how things work.

Lynne McTaggart is the award-winning author of five books, including the international bestselling sensations The Field and The Intention Experiment.

She is an internationally recognized spokesperson on the science of spirituality.
